Mitchelmore Engineering Company (Meco) was contracted by the Town of New Glasgow to perform a Dam Safety Review (DSR) for Forbes Lake Dam, in the fall of 2005. Forbes Lake Dam is located in Churchville Nova Scotia, just outside of New Glasgow. The dam acts to create a reservoir, from which water is drawn to provide drinking water to the town and surrounding areas. The DSR was completed in accordance with the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) Dam Safety Guidelines, 1999.
