The Town of Yarmouth contracted Meco to repair and improve the Lake George dam. The dam was originally built in the 1930's and had upgrades done to it in the 90's. The town manages the Lake George reservoir which retains the municipal drinking water supply for the town.
Meco's Services include:
-
Increasing the grade of the embankment dam by installing rip/rap for wave and erosion protection. Add an earthfill section on the west embankment to give the required freeboard.
-
Remove the deteriorating concrete walkway and replace it with a steel catwalk.
-
Resurface the spillway abutments and wingwalls and provide stop log control within each spillway.
